No. 1 runner most of the year for undefeated Hillies. Finished 11th at Catholic Memorial Invitational with 19:50 for 3.1 miles at Franklin Park. Led team at Division 1 Eastern Mass. Meet, finishing 16th. Came in 25th at All-State Meet. Dedicated three-season runner. |

Masconomet Senior Enjoyed tremendous senior season. Team captain. Placed first in every dual meet but two. Placed third in Cape Ann League Meet with a 19:19 at Bradley Palmer's 5K course. Came in seventh in Division 2 Eastern Mass. race, running 19:30 for 3.1 miles at Franklin Park, nearly a minute faster than a year ago. Repeat Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Led area by finishing ninth at Division 1 All-States. Likely headed to Bucknell. |

Masconomet Freshman No. 2 runner for Cape Ann League champion Chieftains, who were fifth at Division 1 All-State Meet. Finished fourth in Cape Ann League with 19:25 for 3.1 miles at Bradley Palmer. Finished eighth in Div. 2 Eastern Mass. with 19:41 for 5K at Franklin Park. Top freshman in Division 1 All-State Meet, coming in 11th. Her mother was a former All-Scholastic runner for Revere. |

Methuen Senior One of the most improved runners in the region. Placed first in eight of 11 dual meets and second the other three. Came in fourth in MVC Meet. Came in 10th at Catholic Memorial Invitational, finished 15th in Division 1 Eastern Mass. race with a 20:05 for 3.1 miles at Franklin Park and 18th at Division 1 All-State race. Comes from athletic family. Older sisters Hilarie and Ashley ran track for Methuen. |

Londonderry Sophomore Showed tremendous improvement after fine freshman season. Top Londonderry runner in every dual meet as well as at Manhattan Invitational and Meet of Champions. Finished ninth in Class L in 20:35 at Derryfield Park's rugged 5K course in miserable conditions. Ran 19:18 for 5K at Meet of Champions at Nashua. Middle distance runner in track. Accomplished artist. Plays the drums in school band. |

ALANNA PORETTA ![]() Pentucket Freshman Made tremendous conversion from middle distance standout to longer distances. Placed first in all but three dual meets. Ran 19:42 for 3.1 miles at Cape Ann League and sensational 19:11 for 3.1 miles at Franklin Park in Eastern Mass. race. Finished 16th in Division 2 All-State meet with third fastest time of area runners. "She's very untapped and has a great future," said coach Darrel Cox. "She has a beautiful stride." |

Pinkerton Junior Gave up spot on golf team to try cross country and quickly became No. 1 runner for Class L champion Astros. Won her first race, a tri-meet at rugged Derryfield Park, and 10 days later bettered her time there by 45 seconds. Led all area runners at the Meet of Champions, finishing 11th in an excellent 18:38.5 for 3.1 miles at Nashua South. Middle distance runner for Pinkerton in track. |

Andover Senior Basketball standout converted energy to cross country for superb senior season. Placed first in six dual meets. Finished third in rugged MVC and then surprised Division 1 Eastern Mass. field by placing ninth with superb 19:46 for 3.1 miles at Franklin Park. Two-time E-T All-Star in basketball. Will attend Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., on basketball scholarship. |
