USATF Junior National Championships, Palo Alto, CA

Chantelle Dron, Russell Brown and Mia Swenson have each returned home from Nationals as a Verizon Junior All-American. These All American awards were given to those athletes who finished in the top eight in the United States at this championships

  • Chantelle finished second in the 1500 with a pr 4:26.08, earning a spot on the Junior Pan-Am Team. more...

  • Russell finished third in the 800 with pr 1:50.16.more...

  • Mia finished eighth in the 3000 with pr 9:59.32. more...

Chantelle Dron, competing in her first mile race since winning the National Scholastic Indoor Championship, won the Golden West Invitational mile in a personal best 4:49.58.

Mia Swenson, tuning up for the Junior National 3000m, ran a fine 5:03.34 for 7th place at the oldest High School Championship Meet in the country.

Russell Brown finished 6th at the adidas Outdoor Championship 800m run, in Raleigh, NC, on Saturday with a 1:51.80.  Although not a pr, this race is a very good tune up for next week's Junior Nationals.  At Junior Nationals, getting into a good position early and making the final will be good challenges for Russ.  In the final, run hard.

Ashley Farnsworth led the Lynx crew at the Junior Olympic New England Championships, with a dramatic come-from-behind win in the Youth Girls 800m, with a pr 2:23.74.

Keara Thomas advanced to the Regionals in both the 400 (63.64) and the 800. Keara earned this week's tough-it-out prize for racing twice in an hour after coming home from a week long school trip to Washington, D.C.  It is much easier to come back from a week off with a couple of easy days rather than two races.

Alison Travers advanced in the 200 and 400 with two very strong runs.

Danny Wang advanced in both the 400 and 800 in a strong Youth Boys division. He'll be looking for a very quick 800 at Regionals.

Newcomer Nick Blixt won the Young Men's 5k in 16:39, as the mere sight of a Lynx singlet scared off all challengers.

John Gillsepie and Mike Grant led St. John's Prep to a season best 7:57 in the 4 x 800.

May 8, 2003 Moving Comfort has named Lynx Elite as a winner of a 2003 "Women's Beginner Fitness Grant."
As part of the grant, Lynx will receive some excellent gear for our women's team. We will also institute an incentive program designed to encourage members to purchase Moving Comfort clothing at our partner, George and Phillips, in Exeter, NH.
